IMPORTANT CONSUMER TIPS:
-Never trust companies who ask for any upfront representation fees. Legitimate agents and managers are commission based. Agents are paid directly by a network, Production Company, or advertiser, etc., and the talent is paid less the agent commissions, which should not exceed 10% for acting and 20% for modeling. In most states it is mandatory that an agency is licensed. Managers are usually paid commissions directly from the talent and commissions can vary widely but should not exceed 20%. There are no licensing requirements for managers, so be certain to seek out references.
